In the past few months we have seen quite an escalation of engagements between our telecoms. The battle has been fought over services and products but also over 'offers' and 'events'. In my view MTN has achived quite a lot especially by its ability to get people to participate in its marathons. Its one thing to spend a few millions on advertising its another to get a host of people to wear your logo and run around the city with it and pay you for the chance to exercise! If there is anything that Airtel has stood out for, it is its ability to bring in the big name entertainers. While this may not immediately prove to be fruitful it has caused quite a stir especially in Uganda's entertainment hungry populace. If you add on the soccer championships that have emerged and been utilized to draw in the masses, then you have a healthy mix which will prove valuable to our great international fight.
