From transport to *transpods -The future of transport as i see it.

There are a few ideas that are going to merge in the creation of new modes of transport. For now we will call them transpods. Firstly, the rate at which populations are growing and the pace at which vehicles are being rolled out are at odds. The creation of alternatives such as rail in places like China that are combining sheer mileage with speed are also still insufficient to deal with the numbers that are confronting us. This calls for a capping in the numbers that are on the street in form if personal vehicles and the emergence of an integrated system that is both personal and universal. The best example of this kind of system is found in Amazon. If you do a search on Amazon Warehouse Robots, you will see what we mean. The second idea that this pushes is the idea that the transportation system of the future has almost no human being in sight everything about this system is entirely computerized and automated.
The robot systems function in a independent sense and have an awareness of the digital environment in which they operate. The code that runs this system is like the track system of the train upon which it runs. The only difference is that the system that drives the robots in the warehouse is linked to the shelves and racks in the warehouse as well as the input system that determines the needs and requests as designed or presented in order form. In a sense the individual robots can talk to the racks directly to determine which orders to process first. The surface upon which these robots run is also used to create paths and routes of convenience to determine the shortest paths to use.

The third element is a awareness of each other. One of the current difficulties with the system as it stands now is the idea that currently we still have to deal with human drivers as well as Artificial Intelligence. The driver still has to use his senses to watch and interact with his surroundings. The superior system though would be built with an awareness that will not let it crash into another vehicle. You could almost program it to repel other vehicles so that it is accident proof.
The fourth element is what they call swarm intelligence. This is where an individual device is interconnected to other devices in a universal goal. This universal sense can be controlled and manipulated to fulfill bigger goals and can also help eliminate conflicts or in our case accidents.

The fifth is a little like what you see in the transformers or the Power Rangers where the individual devices often combine or merge when confronted with bigger challenges. This would be like the creation of pods that are place independent or amphibious in nature. The car that is comfortable on roads as well as in water and that has an inbuilt set of blades that will let it fly in the sky as well as land on water. But this is also useful in the sense that say a train can be built to be a combination of mini pods that can disengage and function as cars moving from standard rails to roads and then connecting to buildings where the transform into elevators that get you to the right floor of an interconnected building system. These pods would also have the ability to understand the passengers hence speeding up the pace and efficiency of the system.

(*the term transpods is a term I have created).
