All that an a Box of Cereal
A few years ago, i attempted a search (http://www.google.com and
http://www.ebay.com) for a cereal product that i had been introduced to
while in the U.S of A.
I was unable to collect the appropriate funds for this adventure and
instead buried my dream in the back of my mind.
Fast forward by a few years and add to that the blessings of
serendipity-the appearance of my box of cereal.
After a frantic search for other things, i came across this great
discovery. As nature would have it, chose to conceal this (as i am sure
you would too if you found a treasure).
A little time in the City of New York and an introduction to Honey
Bunches of Oats (http://postfoods.com/our-brands/honey-bunches-of-oats/) and i was hooked. So when i came across the same
product, i chose to purchase it. I guess the same had been at Quality
Supermarket Ntinda for a while but i just had not noticed it. This
particular box was from Post Cereals which i was quick to purchase.
Needless to say the contents were gone in a few days. Then a rival
company (American Garden) and its products also surfaced on the Market.
I was amazed at how fast a battle for the space on your breakfast table
had found itself on our local Ugandan scene. American garden is
interesting because they also sell Mayonnaise as well as Peanut butter (http://www.americangarden.us/product/)
On the local scene we do have grain processing but we have not yet gone
main stream in the creation of additional products.
New entrants onto the scene are discussed in another blog.
