Cross Roads

When we last spoke...we examined the use of software that allows for remote access on both linux ubuntu and windows xp. The conversation is incomplete without some screenshots. Remote Box is shown here with the name of the PC a well as its assigned ip. As you can see, the software shows you both the windows side and the linux side.

There are a few tools that i have found valuable in remote access. I had the challenge of getting access to an Ipad. I found a great tool for use in accessing my ubuntu install. What I had to do was first install vnc on the laptop...had some trouble though because  still had to install via sudo- The software that  installed vnc4server then did all the rest. I had to identify a suitable server name and ID. Once tho was done the software was able to find me...after  put in the id and pass the rest was pretty simple.  The other tool that i used is called ibox. I needed to move some music from one side to anther...this was the perfect tool. If you visit the app store you can install the app and then dot he same for your windows side.
